From billiard café to steak icon
In the early days, Loetje was known for its hearty breakfasts and meatballs, until founder Ludwig ‘Loetje’ Klinkhamer decided to put his tenderloin steak on the menu. The recipe, with its famous gravy, became a hit. This success turned Loetje into not just a steak icon, but also a place that immediately feels like home. At Loetje, it’s not just about the great food, though we’re very proud of it, but about the full experience, steeped in Amsterdam-style no-nonsense hospitality.

Loetje is growing rapidly. With over 1000 employees, including 40 at the office alone, that’s why the headquarters is relocating

A year full of milestones. Loetje turns 45 years old, we launch the plant-based Biefstuk Bali 0.0, and the 30th Loetje opens in Reeuwijk
